Quick Start
Get started with MurmurTone in under 5 minutes:

Download and Install
Download the installer from murmurtone.com/install and run it. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Launch MurmurTone
Find MurmurTone in your system tray (bottom-right of your taskbar). The icon looks like a shield with a waveform.

Configure Your Hotkey
Right-click the tray icon → Settings → Click "Set Hotkey" and press your preferred key combination. Default:

Start Transcribing
Press and hold your hotkey, speak clearly, then release. Your transcribed text will appear in the active window.
Basic Usage
Recording and Transcribing
MurmurTone uses a "push-to-talk" system:
- Press your hotkey to start recording
- Speak clearly into your microphone
- Release the hotkey to stop recording and transcribe
- Your text appears in the active application
Audio feedback sounds indicate the current state:
- Beep (start): Recording has begun
- Processing sound: Transcription in progress
- Success chime: Transcription complete
- Error sound: Something went wrong
Voice Commands
Say these commands while recording to insert punctuation or control text:

System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10 (build 19041+) or Windows 11
- RAM: 4 GB minimum (8 GB recommended)
- Disk: 500 MB free space
- Microphone: Any USB or built-in microphone
- Optional: NVIDIA GPU with CUDA for faster transcription
